New Leadership Fortifies NABI

Anniston, AL—North American Bus Industries, Inc. (NABI) recently appointed new management to strengthen and lead the company during the aligning of NABI, Optima Bus, LLC and Blue Bird bus manufacturing companies.

Jim BernacchiJames (Jim) Bernacchi has joined NABI as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Transportation and Coach Operations.  Bernacchi has over 35 year’s progressive experience in the transportation industry with Chrysler Corporation, Motor Coach Industries (MCI), and ABC Bus Companies.  He was most recently employed as Vice President of Operations for Complete Coach Works (CCW) before joining NABI. During his 35 year transportation career, Bernacchi served in numerous management capacities including CEO, President, COO, Vice President of Manufacturing and General Manager, and Executive Vice President of Procurement for plants in the U.S., Mexico and Canada.  Bernacchi earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin and his MBA from Trinity Southern University.  Bernacchi will be responsible for the day to day operation of NABI and the Optima manufacturing areas including Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering and related support departments for all transit and coach manufacturing. 

Joe Gibson2Joseph (Joe) Gibson has joined NABI as the Senior Vice President for Transit Sales and Marketing.  Gibson has over 30 year’s progressive sales and marketing experience in the bus industry with General Motors Truck and Bus, Transportation Manufacturing Corporation, NOVA Bus and Optima Bus.  He was most recently employed as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Muncie Transit Supply.  During his 30 year bus career, Gibson has served primarily as a Vice President of Sales and Marketing in these organizations.  Gibson earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the Oakland University.  Gibson will be responsible for the transit sales and marketing activities for the NABI brand, Optima brand and Blue Bird brand of transit buses.

Bill CoryellWilliam (Bill) Coryell will assume the position of Vice President of Western Regional Transit Sales for NABI.  Coryell has been a tremendous asset to NABI and has contributed greatly to the success of the organization over its history.  He has been with NABI since its inception in 1992.  Coryell has a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University and has over 26 years experience in bus manufacturing and sales.  He has held a variety of management and executive positions in the industry associated with the manufacture and sale of buses in the United States.  He most recently served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for NABI.  In his new position, Coryell will be responsible for transit sales in the western area of the United Sates and will retain responsibility for several key accounts in other parts of the U.S.
